Pre-K for All

PK for AllĀ at St. Francis of AssisiĀ Catholic AcademY

The St. Francis of Assisi PreK Program has been part of our St. Francis community for over 15 years. The program is fully funded by the NYC Department of Education and we follow DOE approved Creative Curriculum Units of Study. We host 3 PreK classes which consist of 18 students with a NYS Certified Lead Teacher, an Assistant Teacher and a shared floater.

Classes are held throughout the school year, September-June. Daily classes commence at 8:00 and dismissal is at 2:20. We provide lunch and snacks daily for our students. Children attend classes in Yoga, Music, Gym and STEM. We proudly boast of a separate, gated outdoor play space solely used by our 3K and PreK classes. Students go outside for a total of 60 minutes a day, which is split into a morning and afternoon session. Rest time takes place for 30 minutes in the afternoon.

During the course of the day children spend their time immersed in large group meetings, centers, and gross motor play. Well planned activities stress hands on and small group instruction. Children learn classroom routines and participate in the structure and design of the classroom. Through play, children learn how to share, cooperate, and make decisions. Our dedicated staff encourages students to be independent, lifelong learners. As we progress through the year safety, care and compassion are the cornerstones of our program.

The Academy offers both an Early Drop Off Program and an After School Program for a fee. In order to apply to our PreK Program simply go to www.myschools.nyc and register your child. Our school code is QAYW and the District is 30. For additional information contact our 3K/PreK Director, Mrs. Nancy Annunziata.
