3K for All

3K for All at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy

The St. Francis of Assisi 3K Program began in September, 2021. The program is fully funded by the NYC Department of Education and we follow DOE approved Creative Curriculum Units of Study. We host 2 3K classes which consist of 15 students with a NYS Certified Lead Teacher, an Assistant Teacher and a shared floater.

Classes are held throughout the school year, September-June. Daily classes commence at 8:10 and dismissal is at 2:30. Lunch and snacks are provided daily for our students. Children attend classes in Yoga, Music, Gym and STEM. We proudly boast of a separate, gated outdoor play space solely used by our 3K and PreK classes. Students go outside for a total of 60 minutes a day, which is split into a morning and afternoon session. Rest time takes place for 45 minutes in the afternoon.

During the course of the day children spend their time immersed in large group meetings, centers, and gross motor play. Well planned activities stress hands on and small group instruction. Children learn classroom routines and teaching teams promote the development of problem solving and regulatory skills. Our dedicated staff encourages students to be independent learners and active members of their classroom community. Through play, children learn how to share, cooperate, and make decisions. As we progress through the year safety, care and compassion are the cornerstones of our program.

The Academy offers both an Early Drop Off Program and an After School Program for a fee. In order to register for our 3K Program simply go to www.myschools.nyc and register your child. Our school code is QAYW and the District is 30. For additional information contact our 3K/PreK Director, Mrs. Nancy Annunziata
