Dear SFACA Families:
Our Spirit Day celebration last month was a complete success. The students had a blast playing games with good sportsmanship and cooperation among the gold and brown teams. The gold team won by 1 point! We thank Mrs. Mincone for her help with organizing the games for our students. We also thank our parents for helping by cheering the students on during the games. We thank Mrs. Kyriakopoulos, our Home Academy President, Mrs. Angie Spampinato, our Academy Board Chair and all the parents who helped with our Spirit Day, our lunch moms for handing out the pizza lunch and making sure everything ran smoothly. We also thank Mr. Gus for our ice cream treats. We congratulate Alina in 7th grade for being the winner of the grand prize – Nintendo Switch.
We congratulate the Class of 2022 upon receiving their class rings this month. We wish them continued success as they prepare for their TACHS and specialized high school exams.
Our children’s liturgy celebrations began last month. Please have your child come celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday mornings at the 9:30 mass.
Please notify the office of any telephone number changes or pertinent information changes to update our office records. Please make sure that voicemail boxes are cleared to leave messages in the event we need to speak with a family member.
When handing in any money to your child’s teacher, please make sure that money is in an envelope and clearly labeled with your child’s name/grade and what is the money is for. If your child will be absent, please call the office and email your child’s teacher so that the teachers are aware your child won’t be in. If you want any homework or class work, please notify the teacher early in the morning so that such may be prepared in advance and ready for when you want to pick up the material.
As the holidays are approaching and there will be many family gatherings and travel plans, please continue to follow all CDC health guidelines regarding travels for the safety of all our students and their families. Please refer to school emails regarding these guidelines.
We are in the process of pursuing a crossing guard at the intersection of 45th Street and 20th Avenue. However, there is a shortage of crossing guards. Anyone interested in a position, please contact Officer Sagar, 114th Precinct School Crossing Supervisor at (929) 208-7428 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be half day dismissal at 12:30 on Wednesday, November 24th for grades K-8.
Please join us for the 11am Thanksgiving Mass. There will be a monetary donation for the Little Sisters of the Poor.
3K and 4K will have a regular full day schedule.
PLEASE NOTE: For the safety of everyone, please keep your child home if he or she is not feeling well. We also need to have all COVID screening forms completed on FACTS before 8:00am or a hard copy of the form to be handed in to the teacher first thing when entering the classroom. Masks are to be worn at all times when coming in the school building, as well as, when dropping and picking up your child.
To all of our veterans, we wish you a very Happy Veterans Day and we are thankful for your service to our country.
In this month of gratitude, please know how much we are grateful to all of our SFACA families for the ongoing support to our academy, our children, and our community. We ask God’s blessings to be given to all our families and hope that you all enjoy a joyous Thanksgiving with loved ones.
Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!
Ms. Stefano, Faculty, and Staff
