Dear SFA Families:
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we are mindful of the many blessings we share, especially for the children in our care. It is a joy to teach them to value the priceless gifts of faith and family and to appreciate all of God’s creations. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Our Christmas Show will be on Tuesday, December 18 and Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Schedule as follows:
K-106, Grades 1, 3, 5, and 7
K-102, Grades 2, 4, 6, and 8
WE GIVE SPECIAL THANKS TO:

-Thank you to Mrs. D’bora Rebele, the Ragusa Family, Dominick Grimaldi, and to the SFACA Executive Board, Class Reps, Mrs. Wanda Anello, Alumni, volunteer parents, DJ Luigi and Anup for making our Halloween parties truly memorable. These parties wouldn’t be possible without you all.

Students in Grades K-5 may wear the long sleeve Polo Shirt with khaki pants. Girls in K-5 can only wear the long sleeve Polo Shirt with slacks not the jumper. Hair accessories may only be worn in academy colors of brown or white. Plaid headbands may be purchased from Flynn and O’Hara. Low or no-show socks are not permitted with the gym uniform. Only shoes purchased from DaBar Two are permitted. We have gently used boys khaki long pants, khaki shorts, long and short sleeve shirts, plaid ties, and skirts for girls. -Students may dress down on the day of their birthday. If the day falls on a First Friday, the weekend or when school is closed, your child may dress down on the next day that school is in session unless they are attending Mass that day.
-When we experience inclement weather, students will enter the building at the first back door, Door A, at 8:00 a.m. and go directly to their classrooms. Only Pre-K students may enter through the front door.
– Remember to turn your clocks back on November 4th.
IMPORTANT DIOCESAN REQUIREMENT
Any adult who wishes to interact with children at SFACA in any capacity (chaperones, academy or classroom activities, etc.) must become VIRTUS certified. Flyers went home last month alerting you to two opportunities to do so. The word virtus derives from Latin, and means valor, moral strength, excellence, and worth. In ancient times, virtus denoted a way of life and manner of behavior that always aspired to the highest, most positive attributes of people and aspects of human interaction. This program helps create child safe environments by making adults more aware of the ways children and adults interact with each other. Please be sure to avail yourselves of one or the other of those classes.
Finally, for the safety of all the students at SFACA, please do not bring your dog to school, allow your children to run in the school yard or on the church steps, double park your car and leave it unattended, block the driveway entrance to the rectory or move your car out of the yard if there are children present at recess or dismissal. Please help us to keep your children safe.
Our sincere wishes for a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Ms. Stefano, Faculty, and Staff
