January 2019 News & Calendar

Dear SFA Families,

Each year as we celebrate Christmas, we remember the wonderful people in our lives that make each day truly meaningful for all of us.  Your beautiful children are the reason why we do our work.  They bring us great joy and remind us daily of the wonders of the Christ-child.  Their smiles, their excitement, and their promise of a hope-filled future enrich our lives and brighten our spirits.  Not a day goes by without some surprising magical moment that is given to us from a child.  Every one of them sparkles in their own light, and we love them all!  We thank you for sharing the most precious gift of your children with us.

As we look back at a busy December, we want to extend our gratitude to everyone who supported our efforts with our annual Christmas presentations.  A special thank you is appropriately given to the entire faculty and student body and to all who helped in so many capacities:  stage and hall decorators, backstage director, stagehands, maintenance, refreshments, and raffle sales.

-Mrs. Ketabi for her dedicated service to the children of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy. She is relocating to her hometown and will not be returning in the New Year. We wish her the best of health and happiness.

All school visitors and volunteers must enter school through the front door entrance only for security purposes.

-During the winter months when we have inclement weather, children should enter school at the back door A until the door is closed. After that, they must use the front door entrance of the school.  If the gate on 21st Avenue is closed due to icy or snowy conditions, use the front door entrance.  School closings will be announced on our Parent Alert Phone System and school website.
-Any messages pertaining to your child such as absence, homework pickup, etc. must be called in to the office by 9:00 a.m. Homework may be picked up from the office at dismissal, or you can request to have it sent with a friend from your child’s class.
-If your child receives a new vaccine, please have your doctor send this information to us.

The theme this year is Learn – Serve- Lead- Succeed.  This special week will begin with 11:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, January 27, 2019 followed by coffee in the Lower School.  A tour of the school will be available.

Our sincerest wishes that the New Year 2019 will be filled with God’s choicest blessings and peace in our world.  Many thanks for all your thoughtful remembrances to each of us during this Christmas season.
