DECEMBER NEWS 2021
We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your families. We have much to be grateful for as a school community.
As we approach the “countdown” to Christmas, we have some very exciting and fun activities for the children.
There will be a Toy Drive, which began on November 30th and will continue every day until December 17th. This toy collection will help give needy boys and girls who are less fortunate than us a joyous Christmas morning. All donations will be given to Marguerite Pantry in Jackson Heights. A few gentle reminders:
. please do not wrap the gifts
. please keep multi-cultural toys in mind
As always, we appreciate your generous donations and are thankful for all that you do as a school community to help others.
There will be several Dress Down Days as a fun way to “countdown” to Christmas:
November 30th was Red, White & Green
December 7th will be Ugly Christmas Sweater
December 14th will be Blizzard White Out – dress in white
December 21st will be Christmas PJs
We are also having several special lunch options with chicken nuggets, bagels and “breakfast for lunch”. Flyers will be sent home regarding these special lunch offerings.
Thank you for your generous donations for the Little Sisters of the Poor. We raised $2300 as a school community. We are so grateful for everyone’s help with this fund-raising. The Little Sisters are so appreciative of our help.
Progress report conferences will be held virtually on December 9th for K-8.
Dismissal for PS3 and PK4 will be 12:00.
Dismissal for K-8 will be 12:30.
Teachers will make appointments for individual conferences.
Please continue to notify the office of any telephone number changes or pertinent information changes to update our office records. Please make sure that voicemail boxes are cleared to leave messages in the event we need to speak with a family member.
Please note that there will be no After School Program on Monday, December 20th and Wednesday, December 22nd.
Please join us for our Advent and Christmas Mass hosted by Grade 4 on December 22nd at 2pm. Our Christmas recess will begin on December 22nd at dismissal. There will be a FULL day of school.
As the holidays are approaching and there will be many family gatherings and travel plans, please continue to follow all CDC health guidelines regarding travels for the safety of all our students and their families. Please refer to school emails regarding these guidelines.
PLEASE NOTE: For the safety of everyone, please keep your child home if he or she is not feeling well. We also need to have all COVID screening forms completed on FACTS before 8:00am or a hard copy of the form to be handed in to the teacher first thing when entering the classroom. Masks are to be worn at all times when coming in the school building, as well as, when dropping and picking up your child.
Have a wonderful and blessed and holy Christmas Season.
Ms. Stefano, Faculty, and Staff
