SFACA’s Catholic Schools’ Week Service Project will be devoted to Ronald McDonald House….

This year the theme for Catholic Schools’ Week in “Learn, Serve, Lead, Succeed.” We would like to show our children that service to others is part of our Catholic faith. This year we have chosen Ronald McDonald House as our service project. RMH provides temporary housing for pediatric patients and their families in a strong, supportive and caring environment.

On Friday, January 10th, we held a Pep Rally to start off our student portion of the fundraising drive. The children saw a short video about RMH (below), and heard a very emotional presentation from Mrs. Mauceli, our first grade teacher, whose family has experienced first hand the love and support provided by RMH.

On Tuesday, January 14th, we will ask our students to dress down in either red or yellow for a donation.  Each student that donates will have their name written on one of the following McDonald symbols to be hung in the school lobby. *

French Fries          Apple Pie         Chicken Nugget        Hamburger         Big Mac

          $1                        $3                           $5                            $7                    $10

We are hoping that after seeing the video and hearing from Mrs. Mauceli, the children will understand what their donation can do to help others. We are hopeful that THEY are willing to make the sacrifice and assist a family in need.

This Donation Day is for the children explicitly!  We will be having a second Donation Day on Tuesday, January 28th for the parents.  Please have your child fill out the reverse side of this form and bring it to school on Tuesday, January 14th with his or her donation.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
