We are still collecting for our class missions and we will continue to collect throughout the school year. As I said previously, the children enjoy putting money into our special container. It is also an opportunity for us to discuss how blessed we are and how we can help people not as fortunate as we are. Each time they make a deposit we talk about what might be done with that money to help someone in need.

Please be aware that it is a half a day and the children will be dismissed from the classroom after the “show”. There is no afterschool program that day. Scholastic Books are a great way to get your children interested in learning how to read and also a great way to reinforce what we are learning in class.
On Wednesday October 30th we will have a small Halloween Party in our classroom.
The children may wear their costumes to school. When selecting a costume please keep in mind the need for bathroom accessibility. Remember that your child will be sitting in this costume for the entire school day, so something comfortable would be best. There are no weapons allowed in school no matter how pertinent they are to the character or the costume.
As we approach cold and flu season, please encourage your child to cough and sneeze into their elbow.
We are introducing Show and Tell to our classroom. This is an opportunity for each child to bring in something that they would like to show to their friends. They will stand in front of the class and tell their friends a little bit about whatever they have brought in. Please don’t send anything too precious or fragile as accidents do happen.
The weather is changing so please make sure that you put your child’s name on all jackets, sweaters, coats, etc.
