MONDAY, JANUARY 28
A central aspect of Catholic Education is learning the importance of service to others. When students take part in service activities – both local and beyond – they demonstrate the values and faith they gain through their Catholic education and learn how to make the world a better place. When they observe how others serve the community, they gain an appreciation for how they can continue to serve others their entire lives. This year SFACA’S service act helped to serve the needs of a special Girl Scout Troop. Troop 6000 is designed for girls in the NYC shelter system. Each class created a gift bag for one of eleven girls who are members of our local Troop 6000. These gift bags consisted of needs and wishes of the girls ranging in age from 6-13. The bags are on display in the school lobby during CSW. Classroom visits for all grades were held from 8:30 a.m. – 9:10 a.m.
Our very first issue of The Franciscan Forum!! Well done and congratulations to the entire SFACA Newspaper staff! Thank you for all of your hard work.
The theme for National Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed”. The theme encompasses the core products and values that can be found in Catholic schools across the country. The logo brings the theme to life. The open book made up of multi-colored pages symbolizes how all areas of Catholic schools blend together, with faith – as symbolized by the cross – at the forefront. Catholic schools are vibrant, dynamic, and excellent. Please join us for our planned activities and visit the classrooms during our Open Houses. We look forward to celebrating SFACA with you. Dear SFA Families,
Each year as we celebrate Christmas, we remember the wonderful people in our lives that make each day truly meaningful for all of us. Your beautiful children are the reason why we do our work. They bring us great joy and remind us daily of the wonders of the Christ-child. Their smiles, their excitement, and their promise of a hope-filled future enrich our lives and brighten our spirits. Not a day goes by without some surprising magical moment that is given to us from a child. Every one of them sparkles in their own light, and we love them all! We thank you for sharing the most precious gift of your children with us. Continue reading “January 2019 News & Calendar”
