There will be another opportunity to pick up books, materials, ipads and/or chromebooks that you may have forgotten for students in Grades K through 8 on Friday, March 20th between 9-11am. Please email Nancy Zotto beforehand if you will be picking up a device so we may have it ready for you. Thank you and be safe!
We learned today that all schools and academies in the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens will be closed until April 20, 2020. This was a difficult decision and it came out of the heartfelt concern for our entire school community. Alternative learning venues are being set into place to ensure that the students will be engaged and learning.
In order to keep our students moving forward here at SFACA grades 3 through 8 will be utilizing Google Classroom for instruction. All students have their Google sign-ins and should log in daily to complete work assigned by the teacher. Report Cards are being mailed home today along with your Option C log in. READING: Read for 15 minutes. WRITING: Write a sentence about something you like about your community in your homework book. SPELLING: Do page 33 and 34 in the Spelling & Phonics Book. There will be no spelling test this week due to no school on Friday. MATH: Page 189 and 190.
On September 13, 2019 our newly formed Student Council for this school year was installed during our Opening School Mass. Students from grades 6-8 compose the 9-member board of the student government. The final selection was made by the principal and middle school teachers. Criteria for nomination is based on leadership, responsibility, and the ability to relate to the faculty, staff, and the student body. The term of office is one year. The council meets monthly, discusses current school issues, and makes suggestions for additional school activities. Mrs. Cavera & Miss Biscaglia serve as moderators for the student council.
Congratulations to the 2019-20 SFACA Student Council, Katie Jampol, Angelopio Graci, Jayden Abela, Jordan Ceron, Isabella Cullinane, Grace Vano, Lawrence DiVittorio, Damia Pan and Katarina Mijat
Please join them as take on their first service project of the year. The Sudan Water Project by participating in a dress down donation day on Thursday, November 7th. Please be as generous as your means allow.
