APRIL NEWS 2022
Dear SFACA Families:
This month, we are approaching the beautiful season of Easter. We are waiting patiently for the celebration of Easter and the most important celebration of our faith. We await the significance of the Risen Lord. May He continue to be the source of strength and peace in our lives, especially these upcoming days. Please refer to the Parish bulletin for the various church services and liturgies during Holy Week.
The children will continue to have Stations of the Cross on Thursday afternoons at 1:45. Please join us for our school mass on April 1st at 9:00 am hosted by the 7th grade. Our Easter school mass will be on April 13th at 10:00am hosted by the 6th grade. Come pray and celebrate the Eucharist with us as a school community.
We are very pleased to announce that eight brand new cameras that have been installed within the school building and outside in the schoolyard. This will aid us in the protection of our students, faculty, and staff, as well as, the school’s premises.
The students are in their third and final trimester of the school year. It is remarkable how quickly this school year went. We are consistently encouraging the students to complete all their class assignments, homework, and to prepare thoroughly for their test assessments. Please remind your children that special subjects are also important to prepare for and complete all assignments. All work for these classes will be reflected in their progress reports.
Our Catholic Schools Week fundraiser for this year to “God’s Love We Deliver” has raised $1,467. We are so grateful to our students and their families with the help in donating to this worthy charity. This charity will assist by sending home cooked meals to those who have serious and terminal illnesses and who cannot cook for themselves.
Our Academy has partnered with Ridgewood Savings Bank with the “Smart Savers School Banking Program”. There is still time if you are interested in having your child participate in this program. Flyers explaining this program have been sent home, yet if it has been misplaced or lost, please call the office and another copy will be sent home. We thank Mrs. Angie Spampinato, our Academy Board Chair for working with Ridgewood Bank in this wonderful opportunity for our students.
In our quest to receive a permanent NYS Charter, our academy will be participating in a virtual re-accreditation visit on April 6th, 7th, and 8th. Our faculty, staff, and administration have been diligently preparing for this visit since last Spring.
Dress down days are fun ways to be in school without wearing school uniforms. However, as a gentle reminder, please make sure that dress guidelines are being followed. Please no tight leggings or spandex athletic gym wear. Sweatpants are acceptable. Please, no cropped belly shirts or torn jeans for school. We appreciate your help and support with this matter.
Please continue to notify the office of any telephone number changes or pertinent information changes to update our office records. Please make sure that voicemail boxes are cleared to leave messages in the event we need to speak with a family member.
Kindly remember that there should be NO SMOKING on school grounds. Please refrain from smoking near the school and church premises, especially near our students and families.
We wish you a blessed Easter for you and your families. Enjoy this time with your family and friends.
Looking forward to more warm and sunny weather ahead!
Ms. Stefano, Faculty, and Staff
