Dear SFA Families,
With the birth of another spring, we look to the outdoors to enjoy the newness of God’s creations. I encourage you to allow your children the wonderful opportunity of playing outdoors and limiting the use of TV and computer games.
Re-Registration forms and fees were due on March 22. We are saving a seat for you; so please respond now as we are in the process of calculating the number of students for the 2018-2019 school year. Families who are not re-registering for September 2018 are asked to return the form indicating that response. Any questions, please call the school office.
Scholarships are available for families with children enrolled in Catholic schools who are in financial need of tuition assistance. Go to www.futuresineducation.org then click on SCHOLARSHIPS and then APPLY. The scholarship deadline is 4/30/18 for new families.
SPECIAL THANKS TO:
-Our students and their families, faculty, and staff for their donations to the Eagle Scout Coat Drive
-Mrs. Demetriou and Mrs. Damiris for working on the Box Tops and to our parents for sending them in
-Parents from grades 6 who volunteered to run the March Cake Sale. We received a profit of $141.40
-Mrs. Kebbe for decorating our front door planters for spring
-Our Home Academy for all the Pasta Fridays for the children during Lent
-The students and their families, faculty, and staff for their donations to the SFACA Class of 2018 from the St. Patrick and St. Joseph Dress Down Day
-Mrs. Zotto for coordinating the David’s Cookie Dough fundraiser, and to the parents for their orders for this fundraiser
-Thank you to Mrs. Bertuccio, coordinator of the annual Dance-a-Thon and fellow teachers.
-Garry Nolan in Grade 7 for attaining Third Place in the Diocesan Upper Grades Math Bee. Garry, what an accomplishment! We are so proud of you.
-At the end of the school day after dismissal time, teachers and assistants must leave the premises for other commitments. Please do not block the exit on 21st Avenue as this prevents them from exiting safely.
-If parents are going on a trip and must park in the schoolyard due to alternate side parking, they must park facing the church or facing 21 Avenue. No one should park in the center of the yard because the children need this space at recess. Parking is not permitted in the schoolyard for parents to drop off or pick up their children for classes, Early Morning Drop-Off, and After School Program.
–Registration for New Students will be on Wednesdays on April 18, May 16, and June 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Please call the school office to make an appointment and to receive more detailed information.
-Summer uniforms may be worn beginning on May 1. School uniforms may only be purchased from Flynn & O’Hara and school shoes only from DaBar II.
-For the children’s safety, please do not double park or leave cars unattended. We have received complaints from our neighbors that parents are either double parking or blocking driveways, and they are unable to move their cars. As a result of this, they are arriving late for work. Please have consideration for others.
-Please refrain from bringing your dog to school due to safety reasons and dog allergies.
-Show concern for other children and teachers by keeping your child at home when he/she is ill. Remember, your child must be 24 hours fever free before returning to school.
Let us continue to pray for world peace and the safety of everyone as we journey through this holiday. Enjoy the Easter vacation and the opportunity to break from routine.
Ms. Stefano, Faculty, and Staff
