Pre-School A | Teacher: Mrs. Catherine Kerins | firstname.lastname@example.org
Welcome to Pre-School at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy!
The focus of our Pre-School program is to help children adjust to the school setting. We learn to listen and follow directions. We learn about being patient and how important it is to wait our turn and speak one at a time.
We work on developing social skills, like sharing, compromising, taking turns and interacting appropriately with other children.
Academically, we learn about colors, shapes, letter recognition and numbers. We learn about the calendar: days, months, seasons and holidays. Spiritually, we learn that God made us and loves us. We introduce simple prayers. We explore the world around us by learning how things grow and evolve. We plant seeds and watch them grow and we watch the transformation of caterpillars into butterflies in our classroom.
Most of the children have adapted to the school experience quite well while some need a little more time to feel comfortable. Hopefully they are sharing stories of their day with you.
Book orders will be due on Friday, the 20th.
Please encourage your child to clean up their toys after playing. These are rules that are being taught here and soon will be enforced. Children that don’t help to clean up will not be allowed to play at our next playtime. It doesn’t have to be a perfect clean up. They just need to make some effort.
